You are met in Amsterdam and transferred to the barge, moored in Alkmaar, where a welcome reception awaits followed by dinner on board.
Day 2 - Monday
In the town of Alkmaar today, visit the Dutch Cheese Museum. After lunch on board the barge, visit Zaanse Schans. This recreation of life in the 17th and 18th centuries features authentic houses, a working windmill, historic shipyard and pewter factory.
Day 3 - Tuesday
Cruise to the historic city of Haarlem for a visit to Keukenhof Gardens, Holland's premier springtime attraction. From late March to early May, an ever-changing display of lovely flowers is showcased here. Dinner this evening is ashore at a local restaurant.
Day 4 - Wednesday
In Haarlem today, visit the Frans Hals Museum with its impressive collection of 17th-century paintings. Later, cruise to the quiet town of Oude Wetering.
Day 5 - Thursday
Cruise to the old university town of Leiden this morning. Also the birthplace of Rembrandt, Leiden is full of charm with pretty tree-lined canals. On your guided tour, visit St. Pieterskerk where the Pilgrims gathered to pray before departing for America.
Day 6 - Friday
After a morning cruise to Delft, visit the tableware factory to learn how the world-famous porcelain is produced. There is time to wander the cobbled streets and pedestrian bridges of the town before a gala farewell dinner aboard the barge this evening.
